Travel Cath Lab Tech - $3,708 per week

About the Role

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of interventional cath lab experience to support cardiologists and RNs in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab. This is a 13-week travel assignment in San Francisco, California, with 40 hours per week on 10-hour day shifts (4x10hrs).

Rotating night and weekend call is required. Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a local rate.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and patient care during interventional cardiac procedures under cardiologist supervision.
• Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab setting, utilizing fluoroscopy and ultrasound equipment.
• Perform equipment setup, room circulating, scrubbing in, and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Assist with procedures including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, TAVR, Watchman, IABP and Impella insertion, and temporary pacemaker placement.
• Maintain proficiency in EKG lead placement, access site prep, sterile field maintenance, and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose).
• Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• May mentor and train students.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of interventional cath lab experience required; structural heart experience preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required.
• RCES, CRT, RCIS, or ARRT certification accepted.
• License required if applicable.
• Prior travel healthcare experience required.
• First-time travelers considered with required travel experience.
• Returning travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before reapplying.

Schedule

• 4x10-hour day shifts, with start times at either 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM.
• 40 hours per week.
• Duration: 13 weeks, starting August 31, 2026.
• Maximum RTO (Return Time Off) of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract.
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
