About the Role

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of specialty experience for a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab in Kenner, Louisiana. This is a 13-week travel assignment starting September 8, 2026, with 40 hours per week on day shifts (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday).

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including stent placements, PCI, IABP, and device implants
  • Accurately monitor patients and interpret dysrhythmias during procedures
  • Serve as room circulator or scrub technician to maintain sterile field
  • Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab with an electrophysiology (EP) lab for an adult patient population (1:7 patient ratio)
  • Procedures include diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, cardiac stent placement, AICD placement, IABP placement/removal, temporary pacemaker insertion, and thrombectomy
  • Use Epic for computerized charting
  • Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE, and rapid response/code team protocols
  • Troubleshoot and document equipment malfunctions
  • On-call requirements: 12 days per month, including 2 weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the cath lab specialty
  • ARRT (R) certification required; RCIS certification not accepted in place of ARRT
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required
  • CCI RCIS certification preferred
  • Experience with EP lab procedures preferred
  • Skilled in equipment setup, dysrhythmia interpretation, sterile field maintenance, and room circulating
  • Compact or Louisiana license required in hand upon submission
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
  • Previous Ochsner Health System employees or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation before returning as a travel contractor
  • RTO (Return to Work) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process

  • Orientation held five days a week
  • Position located in an area commonly impacted by hurricanes; travelers may be assigned to emergency or relief teams during storm events
  • Candidates must be comfortable with potential storm-related staffing expectations before accepting this assignment
