This role requires a high level of clinical expertise in managing complex cardiac conditions, including post-operative cardiac surgery patients, heart failure, and acute myocardial infarction. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to CVICU patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans - Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, including cardiac output, pulmonary artery pressures, and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) management - Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, sedatives, and analgesics - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists - Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care - Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records - Respond to rapid response and code blue situations as needed - Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standardsQualifications - Graduate of an accredited nursing program - Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience - Active IL or compact state RN license - BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred) - Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills - Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
