Description
Acute care hospital setting within an ultrasound unit
Cerner is the primary charting system used in this position
Breast ultrasound experience is required for this role
Vascular-certified sonographers perform upper/lower venous duplexes, arterial duplexes, dialysis grafts, venous insufficiencies, pulse volume recordings, ABI studies, and more
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of sonography experience required
- BLS (AHA) required
- One of the following certifications required: RDCS (Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer), RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer), RCCS (Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer), RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist)
- Breast ultrasound experience required
- Licenses required if applicable
- Two professional references required, including 1 supervisor reference and 1 peer or additional supervisor reference

Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing non-invasive imaging procedures, documenting findings in the patient chart, calculating and measuring cardiovascular structures to aid physician interpretation, and notifying medical staff of abnormal imaging findings
- Candidate is expected to prioritize patient scheduling and ensure timely procedure completion
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of procedure rooms, equipment, and work areas
- Gray scrubs required
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before applying; cumulative experience applies and travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one year total
- Any background hits must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotating schedule
Pay package
Based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
