About the role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our busy cardiac and stroke unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telemetry, IV starts, and care for pre and post-procedure cardiac patients. This role involves managing a dynamic patient load and requires expertise in cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring.
Schedule
- Night shifts: 3x12-hour schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
- Weekend work required on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Responsibilities
- Caring for cardiac and stroke patients, including those receiving pre/post-operative care for pacemaker implantation and cardiac catheterization
- Monitoring stable patients on telemetry, managing multiple cardiac drips
- Collaborating with the medical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Assisting with admissions and discharges, supported by a team lead
- Responding to emergencies and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting
- Experience with telemetry and managing cardiac patients strongly preferred
- Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
- State license as a Registered Nurse (NC or Compact license acceptable)
