About the role
Medical Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a 13-week assignment in Peoria, Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications
- Titrate multiple drips including dopamine, dobutamine, levophed, epi, neo, vasopressin, cleviprex, propofol, fentanyl, versed, insulin, heparin, esmolol
- Interpret and respond to patient strips
- Work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Collaborate with respiratory therapists and monitor techs
- Utilize various ICU equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, BPAP, heated high flow, nitric oxide, IABPs, and temporary pacemakers
- Assist with post-VAD placement and post-heart transplant patients
- Work in a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
Requirements
- At least 2 years of CVICU experience
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Proficiency in cardiovascular ICU components
Qualifications
- BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications required
- Experience with common ICU equipment and patient populations
- Ability to titrate and interpret patient strips

Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
- Shifts are 12 hours (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
- No self-scheduling for non AHU Mission Partners
- Every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday for dayshift, Friday, Saturday for nightshift)
- Every other holiday
- Floating to every level of care
Additional Notes
- Unit requires proficiency in all cardiovascular ICU components except immediate post-op and VAD/transplant
- Utilizes swan, CVC, and arterial lines daily
- Utilizes temporary pacemakers on a lot of patients
- Gets multiple EP patients
- Uses IABPs
- Titrates multiple drips frequently
- Has a lot of ventilated patients
