Travel Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist - $3,031 per week

American Traveler is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Bloomington, Illinois, starting October 5, 2026. The position is at a Level 2 trauma acute care facility with a Cardiac Cath Lab unit that includes two labs, one hybrid room, and a six‑bed recovery area (one lab equipped with BiPlane imaging). The technologist will handle an average of five cases per day, serving patients with STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, stroke requiring neuro‑intervention, peripheral angios, line and drain placement, and loop recorder procedures. Work schedule consists of four 9‑hour day shifts (07:00‑15:30) for 36 hours per week, with call coverage 2‑3 nights per week, every third weekend, and 2‑3 holidays per year. Floating is not typically required, although the charge nurse may occasionally take an assignment.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterization procedures.
- Operate Philips BiPlane imaging equipment and McKesson systems in the cath lab.
- Document procedures and patient information using Epic EMR.
- Assist with a case mix that includes STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, stroke neuro‑intervention, peripheral angios, line and drain placement, and loop recorder insertions.
- Respond to on‑call emergencies and provide coverage as scheduled.
- Maintain sterile field, patient safety, and collaborate with the cardiology team and nursing staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience with heart catheterizations and peripheral catheterizations.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
- Active state license required
