About the role
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist (CCL TECH) position is located in an urban healthcare setting. This role involves performing, assisting, and completing Cardiac and Vascular Radiographic examinations. The technologist operates sophisticated imaging equipment to produce digital images, assists physicians during specialized procedures, and ensures patient safety and comfort throughout examinations. The position requires technical proficiency, organizational skills, and critical thinking to support diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures.
Schedule
- 10-hour shifts, days
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
- Assignment duration: 13 weeks (09/14/2026 to 12/13/2026)
- After-hours and every other weekend on-call as specified by management
Responsibilities
- Operates diagnostic imaging equipment for contrast-enhanced radiographs of the cardiovascular system during cardiac catheterization
- Assists physicians with specialized procedures such as balloon angioplasty or enzyme instillation
- Manages patient positioning and immobilization
- Monitors procedural data including blood pressure, cardiac output, and respiration
- Maintains accurate documentation
- Provides patient education and discharge instructions
- Ensures safety and environmental controls
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Radiologic Tech (RT) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Facility-specific certifications including fluoroscopy (FLUORO)
- Certification in Prevention and Management of Violent Behavior (PVMB), Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM), TEAM-A, or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- Must meet all organizational vaccination requirements and participate in E-Verify
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent
- Three years' technical experience
- Experience as a Special Procedures Technologist
