About the role
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) professional is responsible for providing specialized nursing care within a clinical setting focused on cardiac catheterizations, TAVR procedures, devices, and peripheral interventions. This role involves practicing independently, assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and coordinating care to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position requires a proactive approach to developing clinical skills and managing complex patient situations.
Schedule
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, minimum of 40 hours per week. On-call required as scheduled in collaboration with clinical staff; no weekend requirement for every third or fourth weekend noted.
Responsibilities
- Provides routine and complex cardiac care
- Administers medications and monitors for side-effects
- Documents care and provides patient and family education
- Develops long-term care plans and makes appropriate assignments to other care providers
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA
- RN license in the state of employment or pursuant to a compact agreement
- 0 years of experience required (1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred)
Additional Information
- All newly hired experienced registered nurses must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
- Precepted by a designated trained staff member
- Initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of designated organizational entry competency validation and Critical Care Department-specific competency validation
- Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is required
- Start date: 09/21/2026, end date: 12/21/2026
