About the role
Travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab position for a 13-week assignment in Smyrna, Tennessee. 40 hours per week, 10-hour day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work with a highly skilled team of medical professionals in a cardiovascular surgical environment
- Provide assistance to the physician including maintenance and monitoring of EKG equipment
- Assist during angioplasty, cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology
- Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization as a way to diagnose heart conditions or as a treatment
- Assist with angioplasties, valvuloplasties and stent placements
- Help implant pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs)
- Learn complex technologies effectively
Requirements
- 1-2 years recent acute care experience
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
Qualifications
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
- Able to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times
- Good skills for coping with stress in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
