Travel Cable Technician

We are accepting applications for Travel Technicians to work at various locations across the United States. This role is 100% travel and involves installing low-voltage wiring and equipment such as IP cameras, Wireless Access Points, Routers, Switches, and more. Qualified candidates should expect to be on the road anywhere from 2–10 months at a time. We seek self-starters who can work well with a partner 6 days a week. The Travel Technician will be teamed with a partner for the duration of each project.

Responsibilities

• Pull and terminate low-voltage cable.
• Install network equipment within commercial settings.
• Follow instructions and code when pulling cable.
• Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
• Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
• Install cable support structures such as J-hooks, cable racks, and inner duct.
• Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
• Troubleshoot issues with the cable network.
• Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by the client, their customers, or OSHA.
• Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

• Willingness and financial ability to travel to Lowell, AR, for new hire orientation (typically within 1 week of accepting the offer). Candidates are responsible for their initial travel costs to Lowell.
• 100% travel across the USA for projects lasting 2–10 months at a time.
• Ability to operate a scissor lift and work at heights.
• Must provide your own hand tools, including screwdrivers (standard and Phillips), snips, punch-down (impact), toner and probe, pliers, adjustable wrenches, joint pliers, and lineman pliers.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI or DWI in the last three years).
• Experience as a Data Cable Technician.
• Available for extensive nationwide travel.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and lift/carry 50+ pounds multiple times per shift.
• Ability to work in cramped spaces and overnight shifts (7 PM–7 AM, 5 days a week).
• Must fill out work orders and care for company-provided tools.
• Must abide by PPE requirements (company provides hard hat, vest, and safety glasses; steel-toed boots are the employee’s responsibility).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00–$22.00/hour.

Schedule

• Overnight shifts: 7 PM–7 AM, 5 days a week.
• Typical workweek: 70 hours (including travel time and overtime).
