We are accepting applications for Travel Technicians to work at various locations across the United States. This role is 100% travel and involves installing low-voltage wiring and equipment such as IP cameras, wireless access points, routers, and switches. Qualified candidates should expect to be on the road for 2–10 months at a time and work with a partner 6 days a week.

About the role

Travel Technicians will be teamed with a partner for the duration of each project. Candidates must arrive in Lowell, AR, typically within 1 week of accepting an offer. The first week’s food and lodging costs are the candidate’s responsibility; the first per diem check will be deposited 1 week after employment begins.

A company vehicle and gas card are provided for travel with a partner. The typical workweek is 70 hours, including roughly 30 hours of overtime pay. Projects run from 7 pm to 7 am, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Pull and terminate low-voltage cable.
  • Install network equipment in commercial settings.
  • Follow instructions and code when pulling cable.
  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
  • Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
  • Install cable support structures such as J-hooks, cable racks, and inner duct.
  • Conduct tests to ensure newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the cable network.
  • Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by the client, their customers, or OSHA.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

  • Willingness and financial ability to travel to Lowell, AR, for new-hire orientation within 1 week of accepting the offer.
  • 100% travel across the USA.
  • Ability to operate a scissor lift and work at heights.
  • Must provide your own hand tools: screwdrivers (standard and Phillips), snips, punch-down (impact), toner and probe, pliers, adjustable wrenches, joint pliers, and lineman pliers.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
  • Experience as a Data Cable Technician.
  • Available for extensive nationwide travel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds or more multiple times per shift.
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces.
  • Must fill out work orders and care for tools provided by the office.
  • Must abide by PPE requirements; company provides hard hat, vest, and safety glasses. Steel-toed boots are the employee’s responsibility.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $22.00 per hour.
