About the role
This is a 13-week travel contract position for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. The schedule includes 36 hours per week with flexible 12-hour shifts, including rotations for days and nights (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am).
Responsibilities
- Conduct primary assessments of critical needs, detecting and documenting deviations from norms across all age groups.
- Utilize relationship-based care principles to alleviate patient anxiety and provide information.
- Establish rapport with patients and families, addressing comfort needs and providing frequent updates.
- Encourage mutual trust and cooperation among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Prepare patients, parents, or families for diagnostic procedures and treatments while making referrals for post-emergency care.
- Teach patients what is needed to continue care at home and evaluate understanding through questions.
- Maintain awareness of patients’ conditions throughout their emergency visit and update communication boards accordingly.
Requirements
- One year of acute hospital experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only).
- New York State RN Licensure.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
