Responsibilities
- Crisis counseling and emotional support to child victims and their non-offending caregivers.
- Serve as the primary advocate for families throughout the Children's Advocacy Center process.
- Provide outreach and ongoing case management throughout the life of each case.
- Collaborate with victim service providers and community agencies.
- Aid families in preparing Victim Impact Statements.
- Educate caregivers regarding trauma, child abuse, available resources, and the investigative process.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case reviews.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
- Support families in accessing community resources that promote healing and stability.
Trauma Therapist
- Provide individual, family, and caregiver therapy for children impacted by abuse and trauma.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Utilize Evidence-based Trauma Treatment Modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
- Develop and implement safety plans with children and caregivers.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Complete timely clinical documentation that meets state, federal, licensing, and agency standards.
- Prepare professional written reports and communicate effectively with partner agencies and the courts.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team and other community stakeholders.
- Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
- Testify in court when necessary.
- Assist with additional agency responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Clinical Supervisor.
