Trauma Surgery Medical Director
About the role
The Surgicalist Medical Director position at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital involves leading the surgicalist team in a growing trauma II facility. This role includes both clinical duties and opportunities for active engagement with the broader medical team.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the surgicalist team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Perform routine emergency general surgery procedures and manage acute care surgeries.
- Lead the team in providing comprehensive care, including support from the critical care team and other clinical service lines.
- Rotate between day and night shifts on a monthly basis, with a typical shift duration of 12-14 hours.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to maintain an appropriate work-life balance and receive additional compensation.
Requirements
- Board certification in Surgery.
- Minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience.
- Experience in trauma and critical care.
- Ability to perform minimally invasive procedures and handle complex cases in a Level II Trauma Center.

Schedule
