About the role
The Trauma Nurse Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical care of trauma patients and their families/caregivers. This role aims to eliminate barriers to timely care, facilitate smooth care transitions, and enhance patient and provider satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Triage and respond to inquiries or refer them as necessary
- Identify and resolve delays and obstacles, and develop/implement solutions as needed
- Work with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager for the development and growth of the program
- Provide nursing services and other assigned responsibilities
Requirements
- Five years of recent RN experience in a related clinical setting such as ICU or ED
- Understands the age-specific cognitive, physical, emotional, and maturation processes
- Customer service skills appropriate to the job
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support Education
Skills
- Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
- Experience working with trauma patients in a clinical setting
- Experience navigating patients through a complex healthcare system
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
