Position Overview
Trauma Advanced Practice Provider - Montgomery, AL. 10K Sign-On Bonus
Position Responsibilities
- GENERAL HOSPITAL DUTIES:
- Represent Hughston Trauma and maintain high professional standards.
- Absorb medication requests, handle patient calls/issues, and triage concerns.
- Perform minor procedures like suture/staple removal, pin or external fixator removal, minor debridements, and joint aspirations.
- Facilitate transition of care from inpatient to outpatient, including referrals to post-acute settings.
- Communicate and coordinate care with trauma surgeons and medical assistants.
- Assist with inpatient duties one weekend per month, including rounding, consultations, and assisting in surgery.
- CLINIC DUTIES:
- Evaluate patient concerns and perform comprehensive exams.
- Interpret imaging studies and implement/collaborate on care plans.
- Document visits and assist with patient document completion.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Occasional stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Working under stressful conditions.
Experience and Education
- One year experience in orthopaedics preferred.
- One year First Assistant or OR experience preferred.
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program required.
- Surgical First Assist required or must obtain within one year from hire.
- NCCPA or NP Board Certification required.
- Maintain BLS certification.
- Current State and DEA Licensure required.
