Job Summary Join a Developing Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Program Kent Hospital, a Care New England hospital, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible General Surgeon with fellowship training in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery to join our surgical department. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at one of Rhode Island's premier community hospitals as we advance our vision of becoming a Level II Trauma Center. This position offers diverse clinical practice encompassing trauma, acute care surgery, and elective general surgery with access to the Intuitive XI robotic platform. The successful candidate should enjoy teaching medical students and will have an academic appointment. The service is staffed with 24/7 APC coverage. This is an ideal opportunity for a collaborative surgeon who enjoys practicing broad-spectrum acute care surgery and elective general surgery and wants to play an integral role in the development of our Level II Trauma Program. Position Highlights Provide comprehensive acute care surgery services including:Acute Care Surgery Trauma SurgeryElective General Surgery (access to Intuitive Xi)Shared call with an established team of surgeonsDedicated operating room access for acute care surgery casesOpportunity to participate in the development and growth of Kent Hospital's trauma programCollaborate with Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Anesthesia, Radiology, and hospital leadership to advance Level II Trauma Center readinessParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, trauma performance improvement, and multidisciplinary case reviewOpportunities for medical student education through the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. Responsibilities Evaluate and manage acute care surgery consultationsPerform operative and non-operative management of trauma patientsProvide timely surgical care for emergency general surgery conditionsParticipate in trauma activations and acute care surgery call coverageCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomesSupport trauma program development through protocol development, quality initiatives, and educationMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical recordParticipate in departmental meetings and quality improvement activities Why Join Kent Hospital?
