Transporter Specialist CDL - Part Time - Flexible Schedule
About the role
These roles are responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day functions that support the university’s physical and logistical needs. Staff in these positions work to ensure that facilities are well-maintained, operational processes are efficient, and UVA environments are welcoming and functional.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing parking and transportation needs
- Enforcing parking rules and regulations
- Issuing parking permits
- Managing transportation fleet
- Providing organizational related support or service (administrative or clerical)
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: At least 8 months of prior work experience
- Licensure: Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Type A or B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements or a valid State of Virginia Driver's License and the ability to obtain the CDL with endorsements within the first 45 days of hire
Qualifications
- Must have a positive point balance via a good driving record on existing license
Skills
- Safe operation of a transit bus
- Boarding/alighting the transit bus
- Standing, traveling, and the potential for bending, lifting, and carrying during special events and servicing the equipment
