Transporter

Responsibilities

• Transport and assist with transportation and transfer of patients.
• Assist with cleaning operating and procedure rooms.
• Accurately and carefully use equipment (beds, chairs, stretcher, etc.) to move patients throughout DRH facilities and outside for pick up.
• Interact with patients, family, and visitors of all age groups.
• Avoid moving equipment and preparing operating/procedure rooms, as directed.
• Avoid assisting with organizing and cleaning operating or procedure rooms, as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
• Maintain continuing education including internal and external educational offerings.
• Adapt assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the physical, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each person served.
• Utilize assistive devices for lifting is mandatory.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Meet required conditions of employment, including required vaccinations.
• Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and effectively communicate with customers.
• Ability to follow applicable regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations.
• Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.
• High school diploma or equivalent or work-related experience preferred.
• Must have basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, etc.).
• Ability to read information on papers and computer screens.
• For those positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
• This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.
• This position requires vaccinations per DRH Policy. Medical and Religious Exemptions are available upon request.
