TRANSPORTATION SURVEYOR PARTY CHIEF (CALTRANS)

About the Role

Under the general supervision of a Senior Transportation Surveyor, incumbent will work as a first-line supervisor planning, coordinating, administering, and executing the work of a survey crew conducting preliminary, control, topographic, construction and cadastral land surveys.

Responsibilities

• Train subordinates to perform land survey duties including, but not limited to, operation of precision surveying instruments, proper surveying procedures, equipment maintenance, survey calculations and note keeping.
• As a working first line supervisor, perform all required supervisor duties.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid California Land Surveyor's License is required. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.
• Incumbent must maintain a valid Class C driver's license to operate a state owned or leased vehicle. Must drive a vehicle to conduct normal work activities.
• Incumbent will be assigned work based on Divisional and/or Departmental needs.
• Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are basing your eligibility on education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification. Unofficial, original, or official sealed transcripts will be accepted and may be required upon appointment.
• Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent.

Pay

• $10,198.00 - $12,761.00
• New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
