Salary: $16/hour Schedule: As needed basis. Must be able to complete 10 hour round trip transports. Location: 314 Grove Neck Rd., Earleville, MD, 21919 About The Role We’re looking for a Transportation Support Specialist to safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, treatments, and other destinations. You’ll also help with patient care activities, making sure they’re safe, supported, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities Transports patients and/or staffPerforms and documents daily vehicle inspections to ensure safetyPerforms all aspects of patient belongings processing for new admissions and visitation items, including search, inspection, sanitization (heat treatment), and deliveryMonitors patient activities, provides security checks, completes documentation to include but not limited to, rounds sheet, Incident reports, records patient behaviorManage high-risk or re-engagement incidentsCommunicates with program leadership/administrator on-call any identified needs regarding safety, vehicle and/or transportation issuesCommunicates with inter-disciplinary departments regarding new admissions, discharges, and transfersPerforms other assigned duties when patient transportation needs are low May be responsible for transporting medical equipment to include but not limited to medicationThis job description is not designed to cover or contain comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Skills And Education Valid state driver's licenseAcceptable MVRHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior experience as a driver/transportation support specialist preferred6 months experience in health and human service-related field preferredMaintains CPR certificationAbility to work in fast-paced environmentExcellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workloadProficiency with all technology hardware, systems and tools required to perform duties; training will be provided as needed. WORK ENVIRONMENT: May work in a variety of environments including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities. They spend much of their time seated in a motorized vehicle and on their feet, actively working with patients. Noise level is moderate. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. TRAVEL: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected TECHNOLOGY & PERSONAL DEVICE REQUIREMENT: This position requires the use of a personal smartphone or similar mobile device to perform essential job functions, including the installation and use of employer-designated applications necessary for business operations. Use of a personal device for work purposes must comply with Company policies regarding security, confidentiality, and acceptable use. A former patient may not be hired at the same location where they were treated until a minimum of one year has elapsed since the completion of their treatment at that location. Former patients may be considered for employment at locations within RCA other than where they were treated within a year after treatment.
