Transportation Support Specialist

Brief Description

Responsible for providing clerical support to achieve the goals of the office and for transporting consumers as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides clerical support to the transportation department and staff as directed.
  • Processes Medicaid transportation referrals and trips in accordance with direction and regulations.
  • Captures and documents all service activities in a complete, accurate, and timely manner according to regulatory bodies and Westbrook policy.
  • Maintains daily logs and records.
  • Transports clients in an agency vehicle to and from services.
  • Aids with scheduling maintenance/repairs.
  • Completes billing as needed.
  • Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports Westbrook Health Services mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.

Qualification Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to use basic office machines such as typewriter, computer system with programmed accounting software, calculators, and fax machine.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately with a variety of individuals in order to convey and receive information effectively.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Works with staff, consumers, and others in a professional, cooperative, ethical, respectful, and effective manner.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior computer/PC experience using computerized scheduling and billing systems is preferred, but not required.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR record check.
  • Must pass Criminal Investigation Background and DHHR background checks.

Physical Requirements

  • Mobile and able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Use a standard computer keyboard.
  • Bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
