About the Position

The **Transportation Support** plays a key role in our transportation department. You can take pride in keeping facilities and equipment safe, dependable, and operational each day. You will complete preventive maintenance, and repairs accurately and on time, minimizing downtime and service disruptions. You will consistently uphold safety and compliance standards, while keeping documentation clear, accurate, and audit ready. You will collaborate with operators and leadership to prioritize work orders, respond quickly to urgent needs, and support overall operational goals while keeping the maintenance environment clean, organized, and professional---reflecting pride in workmanship and accountability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Facility, Equipment & Repair Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on transportation vehicles.
    • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site repairs when necessary.
    • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and schematics.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance facility, bus stops, and tools.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
    • Perform all work in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
    • Collaborate with Bus Operators, Transportation Specialists, and Managers to prioritize and complete work orders.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. regularly, and occasionally up to 75lbs. with assistance.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
  • Frequent walking, climbing, and reaching to access vehicle components.
  • Visual and auditory ability required to detect mechanical issues and ensure safety standards.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to fumes, noise, and vibration commonly found in a shop setting.
