Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent (Required)
- Current valid driver’s license: able to pass MVR report (Required)
- Must pass TSA driver and safety training series.
- Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively with fellow employees, beneficiaries, and donors.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- General understanding of Safety Rules for Dock and Transportation
- Minimum of five years light industrial, transportation, or operations’ experience.
- Minimum two years of verifiable supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements
- Minimum two years of verifiable supervisory experience.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to operate forklift and complete regular certification requirements.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
Essential Job Duties
- Monitor the performance of drivers and transportation operation to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage transportation costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses while maintaining service levels.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities, including driver logs, vehicle inspection and delivery records.
- Cookordinate with other departments such as retail, WTU and program to ensure smooth operation.
- Resolve any transportation-related issues or delays that may arise during delivery or pick-up process.
- Partner with HR in hiring driver positions and completion of training requirements.
- Prepare weekly work schedule in accordance with budgeted hours and ensure payroll reports are completed on time.
- Oversee training and supervision of Drivers/Material Handlers and beneficiaries assigned to the transportation department.
- Responsible for training and supervision of beneficiaries who are assigned as truck helpers.
- Plan and optimize route schedules based on delivery and driver schedules for efficiency.
- Maintain all DOT and driver files to align with state and federal law.
- Ensure each truck, tractor and trailer meets TSA operational and safety standards.
- Serve as a liaison between the ARC and external partners, including WTU and donors.
- Ensure loading and unloading equipment is safe and operable to include carts, dollies, load binders, flat carts, etc.
- Absolutely ensure safety measures established and maintained by ARC policy and government regulations.
- Play a critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.
- Assumes responsibility of day-to-day Operations in the absence of the Operations Manager.
