Transportation Supervisor

About the role

Supervise the transportation operations within a facility or across facilities, as determined.

Responsibilities

• Supervise company drivers and activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles.
• Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper issues.
• Collaborate with managers/staff members and customers to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
• Maintain compliance with government regulations, administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and Lean program.
• Maintain CTPAT and ISO certifications.
• Work directly on or around motor vehicle equipment.
• Maintain a Safety Mindset.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree or some college in pursuit of same is preferred.
• 1-2 years previous experience in a management or supervisory role.
• 3-5 years prior experience in the transportation industry.
• Solid knowledge of government regulations within the trucking industry.
• Strong time management and coordination skills, verbal and written communication skills, and critical thinking/problem resolution ability.
• Safety Mindset.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in the transportation industry.
• Experience in managing and supervising transportation operations.
• Knowledge of government regulations and safety standards.

• Strong leadership and supervision skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of government regulations and safety standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
