Transportation Supervisor
About the role
The Transportation Supervisor ensures annual performance goals are met, including on-time dispatches, off-load rate, labor cost, and product loss and damage. This role ensures a safe working environment by executing company processes successfully and assists in developing the daily operating plan to include equipment maintenance and driver work schedules to meet or exceed customer delivery needs. You will promptly solve problems to maximize customer satisfaction, provide development to supervisory and driver staff, and potentially lead various committees such as quality and safety. Additionally, you will partner with human resources to maintain appropriate staffing levels year-round, fostering a work environment with maximized employee involvement.
Other duties as assigned. Must be flexible to work any shift, including night shift. This role is bonus eligible.
Responsibilities
- Ensure annual performance goals are met (on-time dispatches, off-load rate, labor cost, product loss and damage).
- Maintain a safe working environment by executing company processes.
- Develop the daily operating plan, including equipment maintenance and driver work schedules.
- Solve problems promptly to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Provide development and coaching to supervisory and driver staff.
- Lead or participate in committees such as quality and safety.
- Partner with HR to ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout the year.
- Foster a work environment with maximized employee involvement.
Requirements
- Associate's degree with 3 to 4+ years of related experience and 0 to 1+ years of supervisory experience, or
- High School Diploma with 5+ years of specific experience and 1 to 2+ years of supervisory experience.
