Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day routing to maximize efficiency and customer service.
  • Proactively communicate with internal and external contacts regarding route changes, delays, or early deliveries.
  • Supervise driver force and ensure drivers are properly trained, including verifying driver logs are complete and accurate.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Supervise DOT compliance using Driver Management Compliance software.
  • Provide corrective coaching to drivers and transportation support staff.
  • Effectively supervise the backhaul program and ensure Inventory Management is updated on backhaul availability changes.
  • Ensure drivers accurately complete all company-required documentation.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.
  • Maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
  • Safeguard confidential company information.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate Degree preferred).
  • Two (2) years of previous transportation/distribution experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications.
  • XATA experience preferred.
  • Strong supervisory skills to develop driver and support staff performance standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to carry 20 pounds and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently required to stand, climb, bend, and walk.
  • May need to drive between stores as per assignment.
  • Exposure to both a typical office/store environment and all outside weather conditions.
  • Noise level in the work environment ranges from low to high.
