About the role

This position is set to begin on July 27th or sooner. Work scheduled for 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Provides day-to-day supervision of assigned staff and fosters a culture grounded in CPCD’s mission, core behaviors, and staff engagement.
  • Partners with Senior Director of Family Resources and Human Resources to support hiring, orientation, performance improvement plans, and Professional Development Plans.
  • Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and termination of employment when necessary.
  • Monitors and evaluates staff performance in alignment with the agency’s performance planning and appraisal process.
  • Schedules and manages paid and unpaid time off for assigned staff.
  • Maintains required licenses, certifications, and credentials for assigned staff.
  • Evaluates staff performance and recommends improvements to enhance the quality and effectiveness of transportation services.
  • Develops, adjusts, and coordinates transportation routes, schedules, and service delivery to ensure efficiency, safety, and accessibility.
  • Coordinates transportation staffing and provides direct support during staff absences, vacancies, emergencies, and periods of increased demand.
  • Collaborates with program leadership, staff, families, and community partners to identify transportation needs and improve service delivery.
  • Manages transportation eligibility, enrollment, service prioritization, and waitlist management to allocate resources effectively and equitably.
  • Ensures the Transportation Department operates safely and efficiently in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Facilitates the resolution of parent, staff, and community concerns in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors transportation procedures, systems, and documentation.
  • Oversees fleet utilization, vehicle readiness, maintenance schedules, and safety inspections.
  • Investigates transportation-related incidents, accidents, complaints, and safety concerns, and implements corrective actions and preventative measures.
  • Completes monthly, annual, and other required transportation reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs all duties of a Bus Driver when assigned to a route, including transporting children safely, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, supervising emergency evacuation procedures, managing student behavior, and completing required documentation.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree in Management, Business, or closely-related field.
  • Some supervisory experience and training in supervisory skills.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of computers and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other software programs.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and interaction with peers.
  • Knowledgeable of the mechanical operation of a vehicle, including daily pre and post trip vehicle inspections.
  • Reliable transportation and minimum liability insurance as determined by the state of Colorado.
  • Successfully complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, TB screening, drug screening (including marijuana), and background check and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report prior to employment.
  • A Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements (PIL).
  • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment and keep it current.
  • Physical & Strength Demands: Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly.
  • General Educational Development (GED) Reasoning: Apply principles of logical and/or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions in written, mathematical, or diagrammatic form.
  • Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Language Development: Read manuals, forms, books, newspapers, journals, abstracts, policies and procedures, and other documents written in the English language. Write letters, memorandums, business reports, manuals, and other documents in the English language. Speak in the English language in the theory, principles, and methods of effective and persuasive speaking, discussion, and debate.
  • Technology: Ability to use computer to complete job tasks, keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, database, report writing, electronic presentations, web navigation, email management, file management & Windows Explorer, scanner knowledge, copyright knowledge, computer security knowledge, etc.
  • Mathematical: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Perform the four operations with like common and decimal fractions. Compute ratios, rates, and percents. Draw and interpret bar graphs as needed. Perform arithmetic operations involving all American monetary units.

Salary

$2,311.06 per pay period/biweekly.
