About the role
The Transportation Safety Manager plays a critical role for CR&R in monitoring the health of the EHS system through training, coordinating and auditing the implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety programs. The position manages compliance efforts and continuous EHS improvement strategies.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the determination of the preventability of accidents and injuries
- Conduct safety and DOT audits to ensure managers and employees are following safety rules/ regulations
- Provide required monthly safety training to all managers
- Develop training strategies, initiatives and materials for new driver orientation
- Evaluate safety concerns and incident countermeasures for compliance with regulations and company policy
- Conduct investigations and review completed reports related to traffic and industrial type accidents
- Absorb legal issues pertaining to accident and injury investigations to determine cause and also, that result in litigation
- Investigate thefts which may occur on company property
- Investigate any threats or potential threats of violence to employees
- Investigate any crimes that may occur on company property and liaise with law enforcement personnel
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, business, human resources, information technology, or related field is preferred
- Two (2) years' previous experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
- Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms
- Strict adherence to company philosophy/mission statement/sales goals
- Strong project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills
- Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
Qualifications
