Transportation/Roadway Staff Engineer

About the role

The successful candidate will work on all phases of transportation projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Transportation projects will include horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, storm water management, traffic studies, utility relocations, development of maintenance of traffic plans, and preparation of contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Include horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, storm water management, traffic studies, utility relocations, development of maintenance of traffic plans, and preparation of contract documents.
• Be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused.
• Use AutoCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• VA PE license, or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 3-8 years of experience in transportation engineering.
• Proficient with Microstation.
• Able to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.
• Able to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
• Able to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication.
• Able to handle multiple concurrent projects.

Pay

The projected range for this position is $88,000 - $113,000 annually.
