Transportation RN - School Health Services
This position is a key member of the School-Based Health Transportation Team, coordinating care for school-aged children who receive school-district–provided transportation between their home school and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital School-Based Health Clinic (SBHC). The SBHCs offer a variety of primary-care–level services; the RN supports access to this care through telephone outreach to parents/legal guardians to review health histories, obtain informed consent, and offer services. The RN documents accurate, complete clinical information and communicates with the SBHC provider to support safe, seamless care. This position follows the school-year calendar and includes summers off.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care using a Family-Centered approach.
- Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
- Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance.
- Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow, addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes.
- Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
- Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings, then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
Requirements
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required.
- Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Pay
Starts at $34.82 per hour.
