Transportation Project Specialist
About the role
Nooter/Eriksen is seeking a Transportation Project Specialist (Level 1) to join the Logistics Team. This entry-level role is part of a team that is responsible for coordinating the movement, distribution and storage of materials and finished goods to ensure timely and safe delivery to customer job sites. This position is located in Fenton, MO. The expectation is that this will be a hybrid position depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute transportation plans that enable timely and cost-effective shipment of raw materials and finished goods both domestically and internationally through close coordination with internal customers (Procurement, Projects, Engineering & Sales) and by negotiating favorable shipping/handling terms with suppliers.
- Oversee carriers and vendors providing various modes of transport, packing, & handling.
- Communicate performance expectations and metrics to evaluate and monitor supplier performance, and establish relationships for effective transportation strategies.
- Support internal customers and suppliers in the execution of project objectives (including identifying, developing, and executing logistics plans in accordance with project-specific needs to ensure on-time and safe delivery of components).
- Evaluate transportation providers for inclusion in N/Es supply base and for future work opportunities (including audits of invoices), issue requisitions for transportation services and coordinate internally to ensure on time placement or transportation purchase orders, communicate and oversee documentation and shipping specification requirements with customers and suppliers.
- Proactively identify opportunities and work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of department policies, procedures, and supporting systems.
- Maintain expanded level of knowledge for Customs Importation/Exportation and Trade Compliance Policy.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Business, Logistics, or Supply-Chain Management, or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; Highly professional, organized, and trustworthy team player; Proficiency in English.
- Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $40,000 - $60,000 annually.
Schedule
This position is a hybrid role, with the expectation that it will be partially remote and partially in-office, depending on business needs.
