As a Project Manager, you will join our Transportation team in our Manchester, NH office, where you’ll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Working with industry experts, you’ll tackle complex challenges that strengthen community resilience and advance environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of roadway design projects including new construction, rehabilitation, and corridor improvements
- Serve as the primary client liaison, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded
- Oversee and manage project budgets, scopes, schedules, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Provide technical leadership and direction to engineers and designers on roadway geometry, grading, drainage, and traffic-related elements
- Prepare and review engineering reports, design calculations, PS&E packages, and permit application
- Ensure project compliance with AASHTO, MUTCD, FHWA, and local/state DOT standards
- Coverage with internal and external stakeholders, including municipalities, state agencies, and utilities
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, supporting their technical and professional growth
- Support business development activities including proposal writing, interviews, and client presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) – required
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in transportation engineering, with emphasis on roadway/highway design
- Demonstrated success in project management, including team coordination, budget management, and client communication
- Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong working knowledge of DOT standards, environmental permitting, and transportation funding mechanisms
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
- Prior experience managing projects for state DOTs, MPOs, or large municipal clients
- Experience with design-build projects or municipal roadways
- Active participation in professional organizations (ASCE, ITE, APWA, etc.)
