About the role

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, engaging with teams, and solving real-time operational challenges. As a Transportation Operations Supervisor, you’ll oversee and coordinate all ground-level activities related to aircraft catering and loading, actively monitor performance and safety, and lead by example to foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment and has 2 years of progressive leadership in Distribution/Logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily ramp operations, including loading and unloading of catering equipment and supplies.
  • Manage ramp personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, and TSA guidelines.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.
  • Coordinate with flight operations and catering teams to ensure timely and accurate loading of aircraft.
  • Monitor and optimize ramp efficiency, including equipment utilization and workflow.
  • Resolve operational issues and problems in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on ramp activities and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Guide, motivate, and develop staff within the Human Resources policies.
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s).
  • Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations.
  • Participate in and support company-sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and Production systems.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in ramp operations, distribution, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate ground service equipment.
  • Experience managing union and/or hourly workforces.
  • Proficiency with workforce management scheduling and reporting tools, along with basic Microsoft Office skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous airline catering or aviation logistics experience.
  • Experience with labor control and forecasting.
  • Strong incident reporting, compliance, and documentation skills.

Schedule

This is a 24/7 facility. You must have flexibility to work the following potential schedules:

  • 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM
  • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • 7:00 PM – 3:30 AM

Pay

Salary range: $78,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year.
