Transportation Operations Specialist

About the role

Ellsworth Corporation, a global, industry leading distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment and adhesive manufacturer currently has a Transportation Operations Specialist opportunity. This role reports into our Specialty Chemical Distribution (SCD) Division located in Germantown, WI and is an on-site/hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with third-party vendors to obtain quotes for domestic and international transportation
• Freight forwarder communication
• Book transportation using Third-Party Transportation Management System
• Exception shipment management
• Supporting transportation functions for the organization
• Assists with transportation coordination requests
• Files and pursues damage claims with carriers and insurance companies
• Coordinates LTL shipments

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related industrial experience and/or training
• Post high school education in a related field of study, such as Supply Chain
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Warehouse software
• Strong customer service skills
• Thorough and attentive to details
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Proven track record of self-direction
• Demonstrates sense of urgency
• Ability to achieve operational savings
• Ability to assess processes and make recommendations for continuous improvement
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
