Transportation Operations Manager - for Truck Carrier

About the role

D&R Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Transportation Operations Manager to oversee daily trucking operations and ensure the efficient movement of freight. The position requires strong leadership, problem‑solving skills, and real‑world trucking experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of trucks and equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
• Address and resolve mechanical truck‑related issues reported by drivers.
• Coordinate logistics and daily transportation operations.
• Communicate with drivers, dispatch personnel, and customers regarding operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Assist with scheduling maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Respond quickly to unexpected operational and mechanical challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records related to fleet operations, inspections, and performance.

Qualifications

• Current and valid CDL‑A license required.
• Real‑world trucking experience with a strong understanding of transportation operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to make adjustments and decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and trucking industry best practices.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Pay

Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000 per year (competitive compensation based on experience).
