About the role
This position supports transportation, logistics, and backhaul functions in a US Foods office-based environment. Occasional work in warehouse areas, including cooler and freezer spaces, may be required.
Responsibilities
- Transportation:
- Answer incoming calls to resolve driver, sales representative, and customer issues.
- Communicate route updates to drivers.
- Use software (MS Excel, Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, etc.) to create, update, and communicate reports and files, including:
- Attendance and DVIRs
- Backhaul spreadsheets
- Delivery window dispatch
- Driver key log and trailer temp log
- Transportation route and network updates
- Other transportation metrics
- Assist in the damages and shorts process by notifying vendors and drivers to resolve issues and complete associated paperwork.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
- Backhaul and Logistics:
- Communicate key information to support backhaul and transportation operations, including:
- Backhaul arrivals
- Daily dispatch information
- Backhaul scheduling/rescheduling
- Service updates to Omnitracs
- Abnormalities/delivery issues
- Assist in scheduling pick-up appointments for backhaul orders and vendors.
- Complete related paperwork and communicate backhaul and logistics information as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent.
- Minimum two years of experience in a warehouse administrative or clerical position.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone and customer service ability.
- Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior logistics, transportation, and/or warehouse experience.
- Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations.
- Knowledge of the geographic delivery area.
- Experience with Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, XATA, Manhattan, PowerDock, or Airclic.

Pay
Expected base rate: $25.50 per hour (range: $18.18 - $30.30 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and location). Overtime compensation may apply.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM. Days and hours are subject to change based on business needs.
