Responsibilities
- Carry out laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, and folding inmate work uniforms.
- Provide transportation for clients to and from the facility and employment in the community.
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicles at the beginning of each shift, documenting any issues or concerns using the Spectrum Daily Vehicle Inspection Checklist.
- Log all trips and mileage, keeping an accurate accounting of each trip, individuals present in the vehicle, purpose of transportation, beginning and ending mileage, the date and time of day.
- Bring vehicles for routine maintenance and service, directed by the Program Director.
- Address program participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly while providing transportation.
- Report traffic violations, parking tickets, accidents, and any other issue to the Program Director immediately.
- Complete assigned driver safety training within 30 days of employment.
- Serve as a role-model/mentor for offenders while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Report infractions of work release program rules, issues at work, and other behavioral issues to the Program Director immediately as identified.
Qualifications
- Must have a clean driving record and the ability to drive for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of the geographic area surrounding the facility and previous experience providing transportation as part of employment is a plus.
- Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
