Pay

Starting hourly rate: $31.52
Senior Transportation Officer (after 6-9 months on average based on performance): $36.78

• Sign-on bonus: $3,500
• Safety & Performance Incentive: $2,500
• Referral bonus: $2,500 per person (no cap, does not have to be at your same location)
• Guaranteed 40-hour paycheck minimum per week
• Quarterly bonus of up to $1,000 (every 3 months) for Senior Transportation Officers

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Willing to work changing hours
• Must be 21 or older
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in military, law enforcement, security, corrections, or any combination thereof

Training

• Must be willing to travel to Nashville, TN for a 3-week paid training program (all costs covered)
• Training dates are predetermined and will be announced during the interview process
• Annual recertification and in-service training required
• Must achieve and maintain Officer in Charge (OIC) certification to be eligible for assignment as an Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC)

About the Role

This position is responsible for the safe and secure management of the inmate, detainee, and/or resident population and trip movement, following sound correctional and transportation industry practices. Quick growth opportunity: after 3-6 months on average as a Transportation Officer (TO), you can take the Officer in Charge test and be promoted to Senior Transportation Officer (STO), which includes an hourly rate increase and eligibility for a quarterly bonus of up to $1,000.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and orderly operation of assigned trips in a manner that promotes public safety, staff safety, and a secure and humane environment for inmates, detainees, and/or residents.
• If qualified, serve as the Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC) on trip activity unless otherwise directed by a supervisor.
• Monitor and supervise inmate, detainee, and/or resident activity per TCA policy, including resolving disputes, taking corrective action, protecting rights, and completing required documentation.
• Follow sound safety practices, report injuries or accidents in a timely manner, and take appropriate action in emergencies.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and briefings as required.
• Maintain effective communication with Trip Management and fellow team members throughout the trip.
• Consult with Trip Management or Field Office Supervisor personnel for decision-making and do not deviate from the planned trip route without proper authorization.
• Complete preventive maintenance of equipment, including restraints, weapons, OIC kits, and vehicles.
• Manage and control resources such as inmate/detainee/resident medications and property.
• Maintain appropriate relationships and communications with staff, customer agencies, and inmates/detainees/residents.
• Apply restraints and use force strictly according to TCA policies and customer contract requirements.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
