Transportation Officer

About the role

Responsible for the safe, secure, and lawful transport of inmates or detainees between facilities, courts, medical centers, and other authorized destinations. This role is essential for maintaining order, public safety, and adherence to law-enforcement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Transport inmates safely to/from courts, jails, prisons, medical facilities, mental-health facilities, or juvenile centers.
• Maintain control of inmates during all movement.
• Inspect transport vehicles (pre-trip, during-trip, post-trip) and submit vehicle condition reports.
• Ensure all required paperwork, permits, and custody documentation are correct before transport.
• Ensure safety measures, restraints, and inmate security protocols are followed at all times.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.
• Respond to emergency transport needs.
