Responsibilities

  • Lead business development activities, including direct client interaction and engagement
  • Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy
  • Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel
  • Develop a strategic business plan and oversee the hiring of team members to assist in the execution of the plan
  • Procure, manage, and execute municipal transportation projects
  • Perform project management, subconsultant coordination, project and task scheduling, contract scope and fee development/negotiations, design team management, civil design, plan production oversight, cost estimating, client management, business development
  • Provide technical expertise to serve as a project leader and technical advisor on municipal transportation projects
  • Participate in marketing activities such as proposal, letters of interest, interviews, and presentations
  • Actively coordinate with other business groups and subject matter experts to present additional services and solutions to existing and new clients
  • Foster collaboration between design teams and specialized service providers
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 10 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 or more years' experience in transportation roadway design including project management experience
  • Experience should include street/arterial roadways, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using MicroStation, InRoads, GEOPAK, ORD, or other CAD design software
  • PE required and if registered as a PE in another state, the candidate must gain Texas reciprocity within 6 months
  • PMP
  • Local Government Project Procedures (LGPP) Certification
  • MS Office knowledge
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
