Transportation Manager with Security Clearance

About the Role

Manages warehouse transportation operations, shipment planning, booking, shipment visibility, performance metrics, and transportation personnel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and process small-package and oversized shipments within the Department of Defense Transportation System and ensure shipments meet required delivery dates.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, counsel, and evaluate transportation staff.
• Apply Defense Transportation Regulations and use TEAMS, Global Freight Management, and FACTS/AMC booking processes as applicable.
• Develop cost-effective transportation solutions, including intermodal options when appropriate.
• Use Excel or similar tools to prepare transportation metrics, trends, benchmarks, and required reports.
• Communicate shipment issues and status to Government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on experience processing small-package and oversized shipments within the Department of Defense Transportation System.
• 3 years of supervisory experience, including coaching, mentoring, counseling, and evaluating performance.
• Familiarity with Defense Transportation Regulations, including DTR 4500.9R.
• Knowledge of Transportation Enhancement Access Management Services (TEAMS), formerly Electronic Transportation Acquisition (ETA).
• 2 years of experience using the DoD automated Global Freight Management tool to book shipments.
• 2 years of experience using the Financial and Air Clearance Transportation System (FACTS) to book transportation using Air Mobility Command assets.
• 2 years of experience using intermodal transportation to develop cost-effective solutions.
• Ability to use MS Excel or similar tools to formulate and present metrics, trends, and benchmarks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
