About the role

This role oversees delivery operations, focusing on expense and revenue management, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and ensuring safety and security within the delivery department.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of delivery supervisors, routing staff, and associates, ensuring adherence to SOPs, planned routes, and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA), maintaining accurate logs.
• Oversee labor hours, supplies, and assets to optimize cost efficiency and support delivery operations.
• Monitor routing effectiveness, KPIs, and customer satisfaction, suggesting improvements and cost reductions.
• Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to resolve customer issues and improve service quality.
• Maintain communication with staff, enforce policies, and promote team engagement.
• Collaborate with safety personnel for training, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
• Handle staff management tasks, including hiring, performance reviews, discipline, and development.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; additional college degree preferred. Related experience in operations or management; CDL license and safety certifications are advantageous.

Skills

• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with software tools, including spreadsheets and routing systems.
• Knowledge of federal motor vehicle safety regulations.
• Ability to lead teams, manage stress, and work in varied environments.

Requirements

The role involves physical activities like standing, walking, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in diverse conditions, including outdoor and confined spaces. The environment may include exposure to noise, weather extremes, and mechanical hazards, with non-traditional hours and occasional travel.
