About the role
The Transportation Manager will oversee the operational execution and transportation budget for both domestic and international freight spend. This role will ensure carriers/vendors meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets and report results to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of analysts to execute operations effectively.
- Drive world-class operations through internal and external partnerships with strong leadership and communication skills.
- Manage RFP cycles and processes to secure the best carriers/vendors for domestic and international transportation, meeting budget and service KPIs.
- Negotiate terms and rates with carriers and ensure daily operations align with budget and KPI targets.
- Ensure carrier TMS and reporting systems are set up to support the entire operation and provide accurate results.
- Provide regular updates on the transportation program to align with company goals and report on progress.
- Evaluate reporting to identify efficiencies and propose improvements for better business performance and budget optimization.
- Generate projects to drive continuous improvement, operational efficiencies, and cost savings opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional supply chain teams to establish a program that benefits the company and its partners, fostering cross-functional accountability.
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-7 years of experience preferred, particularly in supply chain, specifically transportation, and direct engagement with vendors/carriers.
- Operational experience in transportation.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and analyze data to drive actions.
- An analytical mindset that translates to operational execution.

- Experience managing contracts and negotiating terms with carriers.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS).
- Understanding of budgeting and financial management in a logistics context.

Pay
The starting budgeted pay range for this role is generally between $99,700.00 - $117,300.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location, to determine the actual pay.
Schedule
Remote roles for candidates residing in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon, or Washington may require compliance with state-mandated pay thresholds.
