Job Summary

The Transportation Lead will oversee transportation operations, ensuring the efficient movement of vehicles to and from auctions while adhering to corporate guidelines and maximizing production volume.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring prompt, efficient, and courteous attention to customers.
  • Notify the Transportation Manager of any delays or discrepancies in arrival times for vehicles.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and work environment, greeting others professionally.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and report serious issues to management.
  • Perform dispatching and scheduling services, coordinating transportation activities between the auction, customers, offices, and drivers.
  • Ensure proper staffing and load dispatching to meet order volumes.
  • Coordinate with auction drivers to ensure timely vehicle pickups.
  • Follow up with dealerships/customers to confirm safe and timely vehicle arrivals.
  • Facilitate Department of Transportation compliance and maintain departmental records.
  • Report and address safety concerns and emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of transportation industry experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office and Google products.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. or less frequently.
  • Effective customer relations, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding and adherence to company policies.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Physical ability to perform light to medium physical work.
