About the role
This position supports the District Paint Crew by performing pavement-marking, equipment operation, and maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate pavement-marking equipment to place single and double paint lines
- Inspect and adjust hoses, gauges, fluids, and controls before operation
- Drive paint and supply trucks safely in traffic while maintaining proper application speeds
- Move pallets, totes, and supplies manually or with forklifts and other devices
- Perform lubrication, minor repairs, and preventive care on painting equipment and vehicles
- Prepare daily usage reports and provide data required by crew leadership
Qualifications
- One year of experience as a Transportation Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- One year of experience in the operation of construction and maintenance equipment
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Valid Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed
- A valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- An active Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N) during the probationary period and continuously maintain it while employed in this job
- An active certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the operation of heavy trucks and loaders, and two pieces of equipment at this level within the probationary period
- Ability to obtain additional certifications issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on assigned pieces of equipment
Additional Information
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Work hours change due to operational needs, with the possibility to work overtime each day and on weekends during the painting season.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
