About the role

The role of Transportation Engineering Manager involves overseeing the design and implementation of transportation systems in urban and suburban areas. This includes managing projects from conception through completion, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and collaborating with various stakeholders including city planners, architects, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, design, and construction of transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other professionals to develop and implement transportation solutions that meet community needs.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and regulatory bodies to maintain smooth project progress.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in transportation engineering.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6.
  • Knowledge of sustainable transportation practices and environmental impact assessment.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
