Job Summary
Help shape the future of mobility in Detroit and across Michigan. TYLin is seeking a passionate Transportation Engineering Designer to join our growing Detroit office.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to deliver infrastructure that improves safety, accessibility, and community connection.
You will gain hands-on experience with:
- Roadway and highway geometric design.
- Site civil engineering, including grading and drainage.
- Utility design and coordination.
- Supporting transportation and transit design packages for the State of Michigan, MDOT, and the City of Detroit.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to bring projects from planning through design and delivery.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
PE license in Michigan or the ability to obtain PE within one year (EITs encouraged to apply).
Experience in transportation, roadway, or site civil design.
Working knowledge of design software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, etc.).
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
