Responsibilities
- Aid with transportation impact studies
- Collect and analyze traffic data from publicly available sources and through field visits
- Analyze traffic data using tools like Microsoft Excel, Python, MySQL, etc.
- Conduct traffic analyses using HCS, Synchro, and VISSIM
- Support travel demand model calibration, validation, and scenario analysis in Cube and TransCAD
- Provide support to our roadway design and traffic engineering teams
- Perform additional duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Economics or a related field
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective team player in fast-paced environments
- Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and visual communication skills
- Familiarity with Python, C++, or Java; additional programming experience is preferred
- Knowledge of transportation software, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, Cube, and TransCAD, is preferred
- Interest and experience in travel demand modeling is a plus
